My name is Fernando Escobar, I was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and moved to San Salvador when I was young to study Socio-Cultural Anthropology in University . For the last 4 years I have been a tourguide through all of Central America. As a Tour Guide, I can share my passion for my culture with visitors curious about our history and current social reality. I specialize in Mayan Ruins in Honduras and El Salvador. Copan, Tazumal, Joya de Ceren and San Andres are some of the most important Mayan settlements in the area. Take a tour with me if you really want to understand the Mayan Culture from a local-scientific point of view. Im also a part-time volunteer for the National Museum of Anthropology in El Salvador, where I get more knowledge about the new findings and where I can discuss inquires directly with the Archaeologists in charge of preserving or excavating Mayan Pyramids and other structures. I also freelance for Foreign Tourism Companies like Intrepidtravel and Gadventures, that gives me the opportunity of knowing other places, doing more activities and taking nice pictures and videos. My favorite activities, besides archaeology, are hiking, snorkeling, scuba-diving, surfing and dirtbikes. Check out my tours, please contact me in case of any inquiry. Im based in San Salvador, El Salvador and Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
